Thanks for sharing this wonderful post. It lays out the nuances of what AI can and cannot do so well. "Pattern generator" is a brilliant term. I can totally see it as a short in-class reading for FYW classes to wrap up a discussion on AI.
Haven't spoken to many about their thoughts regarding AI, inside or outside the academia. But so far, I've seen so many stressing the pros and downplaying the cons.
