I'm glad you linked back to the Rhetorica entry. It's a gem, imho, and when I saw it churn through Bloglines earlier this week, I gave it a glance but not a full read. I might not have returned if not for your b'marking it here.
I also like the discussion that's going on in the comments regarding "the production of innocence"...
